On April 25, 2017, Life Care Center of Elyria, Ohio, hosted A Taste of Elyria to raise funds for the American Heart Association’s Lorain County Heart Walk.
Hundreds of visitors came to the facility to enjoy a wide variety of cuisine prepared by local restaurants.
“The patio was open, where our own chef was grilling amazing seafood and steak shish kebabs!” said Terri Hodgeman, admissions director.
Many individuals and businesses from the community donated door prizes and silent auction items, and an emcee broadcast live from a local radio station. To kick off the event, a heart attack survivor talked about his experience and successful recovery.
The event raised more than $2,000 for the Heart Walk, which took place on May 13. Several associates, residents and their families from Life Care Center of Elyria participated in the walk to support all those affected by heart disease.
